RECIPE: How to make a Sandwich
Steps:
- Pick your favorite type of bread. White, wheat, wholegrain,or rye. It can also be a roll, or pita bread. You need 2 whole slices of bread to make a full sandwich and you can use one slice to make half a sandwich. You can also toast your bread.
- Choose a spread that will make the bread stick together. Margarine, butter, mayonnaise or avocado are always good choices. Combine the spreads for a different and delicious taste.
- Decide on the filling. Jam, peanut butter, ham, cheese, various other meats, lettuce, tomato, pickles, bacon bits, onions, turkey, beef, chicken, — you’ve got a lot of choices. What you put on a sandwich is really up to your imagination and preferences. Just remember to put together things you enjoy eating because you have to eat it.
- When you have finished putting together the foods you like to eat, slice the sandwich for easier handling.
- Add a cup of soup, pickle, fruit juice, milk or a drink of your choice to go with it for a complete and healthy meal. Keep in mind that sandwiches can be served at any time but are best during lunch.
Alternate Method
- Lay out the bread on the preparing surface.
- Take out the sliced meat, making sure to get as much of the liquid off as possible.
- Put the meat on the sandwich until the desired thickness is reached.
- Put it in the microwave for forty (40) seconds, flipping it once every ten (10) seconds. Take it out of the microwave as soon as it’s done.
- Pull a piece of bread off the top, then add on things like chips, dressing, etc. Try not to add cheese, as it doesn’t go good with this recipe. Black Pepper flavored chips go great.
- Put the bread back on top.
- (Optional) Press on it until the chips are crunched into the bread so they don’t fall off as easily.
- Serve and enjoy.
Tips:
- Always be hygienic when preparing food and remember there are a lot of nasty stomach bugs out there.
- Make sure that you always make your food with lots of love and happiness.
- There are variations you can use to slice it. Slice it in half the long way, or vertical, or cut it into four little slices.
- To decorate it a bit, take a toothpick with an olive attached on top and put the toothpick end into the sandwich.
- Make a flower out of a red radish, and place it on the plate, along side a slice of orange.
- Serve with a slice of pickle and sauerkraut on the meat and add the bread on top.
- Before you prepare the sandwich make sure you get everything out on plates so you know were everything is and so its hygienic and make sure you wash your hands!
Warnings:
- Make sure you chew your sandwich properly when eating it.
- This may be so much fun, that you might want to try many variations before you serve it for your friends when they come over.
- They might like your sandwich variations so much, they may be anxious to visit you often!
- Be mindful of certain food allergies when adding different variations of toppings and ingredients.
Cranberry-Orange Cheesecake with Chocolate Crust
Difficulty: ★★★★☆
Ingredients:
For the crust
- One 9-ounce box chocolate wafer cookies, broken
- 2 ounces bittersweet (not unsweetened) or semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For the filling
- Four 8-ounce packages Philadelphia brand cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the topping
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon water
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
Preparations:
Make the crust
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Finely grind the cookies and chocolate in a food processor. Add the butter and blend until moist clumps form. Using plastic wrap as an aid, press the crumb mixture over the bottom and 1 1/4 inches up the sides of a 9-inch-diameter springform pan with 2 3/4-inch-high sides.
- Bake until set, about 8 minutes. Cool completely.
Make the filling
- Increase the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
- Wrap 2 layers of heavy-duty aluminum foil around the bottom and sides of the springform pan.
- Using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl until light. Beat in the flour. Beat in the eggs, 1 at a time, just until blended. Beat in the orange peel and vanilla. Pour the filling into the crust.
- Place the springform pan in a large roasting pan. Fill the roasting pan with enough hot water to come halfway up sides of springform pan. Bake until the filling is just set in center but still moves slightly when pan is shaken gently, about 55 minutes. Remove the cake from water bath; transfer to a wire rack to cool completely, about 4 hours. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Make the topping
- Stir the sugar and 3 tablespoons of water in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat until the sugar dissolves. Increase the heat to medium; add the cornstarch mixture and bring to a simmer. Add the cranberries; cook until they begin to pop, stirring often, about 3 minutes. Stir in the orange peel. Cool completely. Cover and refrigerate overnight. (The cheesecake and cranberry mixture can be made 2 days ahead. Keep refrigerated.)
- Run a knife around the top edge of cheesecake to loosen. Release the pan sides. Top the cheesecake with the cranberry mixture. Chill until set, about 1 hour.
The Easiest Strawberry Pie
I debated for a while about whether or not I could put this on the blog because it’s so simple, I can’t really call it baking. But in the end I caved. Enjoy!
Ingredients
· Strawberries (about a quart, I used around two packages)
· ¼ cup sugar (more or less depending on how sweet you like it)
· ½ cup water
· 3 tbsp cornstarch
· Pre-baked pie shell
Directions
1. Mash one quarter of the strawberries, and cut the other three quarters into slices, combine in a bowl. Add sugar, and put on the stove to boil.
2. Combine the water and the cornstarch in a separate bowl.
3. When the strawberries are boiling gently, add the cornstarch mixture and stir. Stir constantly for about 5 minutes (or until it has the consistency of honey).
4. Let cool for a couple minutes, and then pour into your pie shell. Carefully (really carefully! I know..) put your pie in the fridge to cool for a minimum of an hour.
Happy baking!

This is my favorite Food! Let’s make this:
Thinks you’ll need:
- Pillsbury pizza dough
- Package of pepperoni
- Mozzarella cheese
Steps:
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Roll out pizza dough on a non-stick surface.
- Place pepperoni slices evenly in rows over entire sheet of dough. You will have some left over.
- Add cheese liberally. Taking the long edge, gently roll up the dough.Once you have rolled it up, make sure it is sealed with no holes then gently turn it over
- Pinch ends shut and slice off excess dough. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Make 4 vertical slices across the top of the roll.
- Place in oven for 20 - 25 minutes
- Remove, let stand for 5 minutes
- Enjoy!
Tips:
- You can prep this directly on the cookie sheet if need be.
- A tomato based marinara makes for a great dipping sauce.
